An operator or technician texts a question. A gatekeeper checks that it is a real field question, not an active emergency, then routes it to a small group with relevant experience. Askers are anonymous by default. Answers are always named.

Keep the disagreement

r717.ai publishes several named answers when they arrive. There is no anonymous oracle and no attempt to flatten field judgment into one approved answer. Differences in experience are part of the record.

Who owns the knowledge

The contributor keeps the credit. r717.ai keeps the record public and free to read. Derive Software stewards the commons and pays to operate it. It does not become the author of what technicians and operators contribute.

Who pays and who profits

Derive Software funds r717.ai. Derive may earn revenue from software that compiles public industry knowledge for a facility’s specific equipment and program. The public knowledge remains free. Contributors remain named. The commercial compilation does not turn r717.ai into iPSM marketing or give iPSM ownership of the commons.

Independent by design

r717.ai has its own infrastructure, its own editorial record and its own obligation to the people whose names are attached to it. iPSM may consume a reviewed, attributed export like any approved downstream use. It does not control what gets published here.

Safety boundary

r717.ai is not an emergency service. If an incident is active, follow your facility EAP and call your emergency contractor. Active emergencies are not routed to the crowd.
